About knowsmystyle

Hi, I’m Karine

Wife. Mom to a teenage boy. Director. Scrunchie maker. Weekend volunteer. Your guide to earning more, living smarter, and loving the process.

A few years ago, I was the kind of person who worked long hours at a desk job, came home exhausted, and spent weekends catching up on everything I had missed during the week. I didn’t have time for myself, for my family, or for the life I actually wanted to live.

I’m married, and we have a 15-year-old son — which means our house is equal parts teenage energy, big ambitions, and never enough snacks. Life is full. But it’s finally full on our own terms.

I wanted out. Not from work itself — I love building things — but from the idea that you have to wait until retirement to finally enjoy your life. That wasn’t going to work for me.

So I did what any determined person does: I started researching everything I could about financial freedom, side hustles, and smarter ways to live. I tested things. I failed at some of them. I kept going.

Where I Am Today

Today I wear a few hats — and I love every single one of them.

I’m the Director of moShop, a Mauritius-based SaaS platform that helps local businesses build and scale their online stores without any coding. Watching entrepreneurs launch their businesses in a single day and grow their sales is one of the most rewarding things I do professionally.

I also run mon-chou, my own handmade accessories brand. I make colorful, funky scrunchies and bows entirely by hand — because I genuinely love making things for people who love their hair. Every piece is made with care, and yes, I’ll make one for you too. It started as a passion project, and it’s grown into a real community of people who love bright, handcrafted style.

Running both a SaaS company and a handmade brand has taught me more about entrepreneurship, creativity, and building income on your own terms than any course or book ever could. That real-world experience is what I bring to every article on this blog.

A note on how I write: I’m not a doctor, a certified financial advisor, or a guru. What I am is someone who researches obsessively, tests what I find, and shares what actually works — with sources to back it up. Every article on this blog is built on evidence, not hype.

Giving Back on Weekends

On weekends, you’ll find me volunteering with Caritas Mauritius, where I help struggling students improve their grades and build confidence in their studies. It’s something I do because I genuinely believe that access to good guidance shouldn’t depend on where you were born or how much money your family has.

Teaching kids who just need someone to believe in them — and watching that click when something finally makes sense — is honestly one of the most fulfilling things in my week. It also keeps me grounded. For all the talk of side hustles and passive income on this blog, none of it matters more than showing up for people who need a hand up.

What KnowsMyStyle Is Really About

This blog exists for busy moms and parents who are done waiting for “someday.” Whether you want to earn extra income on the side, feed your family well without breaking the budget, build a wardrobe that actually works for your life, or just find more time in your day — you’re in the right place.

Here’s what you’ll find on KnowsMyStyle:

  • AI side hustles & passive income — real strategies, honest results, beginner-friendly breakdowns
  • Budget living & money management — how to stretch every dollar without feeling deprived
  • Healthy lifestyle on a budget — vegan recipes, meal prep guides, and natural remedies backed by research
  • Style & handmade accessories — I run my own scrunchie and bow brand (mon-chou), so yes, I actually know a thing or two about style
  • Mom productivity & organization — AI tools, planners, and systems that actually save you time

I read the studies, dig through the research, and translate it into something you can actually use on a Tuesday morning between school drop-off and a work call.

Why I Started This Blog

Honestly? It started as a dream and a conversation. I knew I had knowledge worth sharing — about style, about food, about making money work for you — and I wanted a place to put it out into the world.

What I didn’t expect was how much I’d learn by doing it. Writing this blog pushed me to go deeper on topics I cared about, to question advice that sounded good but wasn’t backed by anything real, and to connect with people who were figuring out the same things I was.

Now I run a software company and a lifestyle blog simultaneously — and both remind me daily that there’s always a smarter, more intentional way to live and work.

Thanks for being here. I genuinely hope something on this blog makes your life a little easier, richer, or more your own.
